ADD/ADHD disorders can have widespread effects on adult social and occupational functioning. People with ADD/ADHD report symptoms including distractibility, difficulty completing tasks, disorganization, forgetfulness, impulsiveness, losing things, and difficulty with money and relationships. Affected persons are more likely to be unemployed or underemployed, be divorced, have automobile accidents and abuse drugs and alcohol than the general population. Symptoms can often be confused with depression, anxiety and eating disorders, and may not respond to medications helpful for these disorders.
Careful evaluation of the symptoms may lead to a working diagnosis of ADD. This is accomplished through a clinical review with Dr. Healey and the use of ADD screening tests. Once a diagnosis is reached, treatment options including medications, behavioral approaches and readings can be reviewed. Click here - this link will take you to ADD SYMPTOM CHECKLISTS and RESOURCES
